A Bit-o-Bio - Dave Manley
Dave originated in Del City, Oklahoma, a suburb of Oklahoma City. However, something called him West and he moved to Colorado in September of 1985 to attend art school. In July of 1987, he relocated to Carbondale, CO and began training as a stone mason.
It was in the Elk Mountains where Dave was first struck by the majesty and grandeur of the mountains. From 1987 to 1993 he hiked throughout the Elk, Sawatch, Tenmile and Mosquito Ranges. In 1993 he relocated to Durango and started hiking the San Juan Mountain Range--the San Juans are the largest mountain range in the lower 48 states.
In 2001 he settled into the historic town of Silverton, Colorado in San Juan county which has more land above 10,000 ft. than any other county in the U.S. The scenery is awe-inspiring to say the least. In the time since he moved to the San Juans, Dave has worn out many pairs of boots and has yet to cover half of the vast mountain range.
Thankfully for the visitors of this site, Dave one day decided to bring along a camera. The rest is "Grandeur Images" history.
These images give but a glimpse of what it must be like to stand alone in these places of unsurpassed beauty.
